Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, PA
Officially known as the G. Fred DiBona Jr. Building, but also known as the Blue Cross-Blue Shield Tower or IBX Tower, this 45-story high rise in Philadelphia stands 625 feet tall and encompasses almost 800,000 square feet of space. The building was completed in 1990 and is the headquarters of Independence Blue Cross.
Problem
A wireless service provider won a large corporate contract with Independence Blue Cross. Part of the deal was to provide wireless coverage and capacity for all employees and visitors throughout the high rise, a condition that could only be met by deploying a robust DAS to cover 100% of the building.
Solution
Intenna designed and deployed this DAS in 2011 on behalf of a carrier partner. This carrier owns the DAS and is responsible for maintaining it.
